Hood scoops or steel cowls?

  • A cowl won't really create any increase in the drag coeffecient of your truck, but it may cause the wind movement around your truck to change slightly depending on how big it is. The downfall is, a cowl won't increase performance. It'll just give you more room in the engine compartment.

    A scoop on the other hand will increase drag a little bit, but if it's fully functional, has the possibility of making your engine more efficient with the increased airflow.

    If you're interested in looks and not performance, though, go with the cowl. That'll give you the best aerodynamic advantage of the two.
